How we work
Medical review policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
Plain status first: no medical reviewer is signed yet. We are working to sign a licensed Filipino OB-GYN. Until that happens, no page on this site claims to be medically reviewed.
What you see today
Every guide shows a review chip under the title and a review box at the bottom. Until a reviewer is signed, they say "Editorially reviewed on" with the real date our editors last checked the page against its sources, plus a visible placeholder note that a medical reviewer is still to come. This is what the box looks like right now:
Editorial review means we checked every fact against the sources listed on the page (WHO, NHS, Cochrane, FDA Philippines, DOH and others) under our editorial policy. It is not the same as a doctor's review, and we do not pretend it is.
Who can be a reviewer
- A doctor licensed by the Philippine PRC, in good standing, ideally an OB-GYN or a family medicine doctor with family planning experience.
- A real, named person who agrees in writing to be listed. We will never use an invented name, a stock photo or a generated image of a doctor.
- No conflicts we do not disclose. A reviewer who works for a pill maker, pharmacy or partner clinic will have that relationship stated on their profile.
How review will work
- The reviewer reads the page and its sources, and checks that the facts, the safety warnings and the tone are right for Filipinas.
- They can ask for changes. We make them before the page is marked as reviewed.
- Only then does the page show "Medically reviewed by" with the reviewer's name, specialty, PRC licence number and the date of their review.
- Pages are rereviewed when guidance changes and when we make a significant edit.
- A review date is only updated when the reviewer actually rereviews the page.
What review does not do
A medical reviewer checks that our general information is accurate. They do not see you, and nothing on this site replaces a consultation. Prices, retailer details and partner listings are checked by our editors, not the medical reviewer.
